July 29 CUSTODIANS OF DIVINE TRUTHS The secret of the LORD is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant. Psalm 25:14 Those who fear the Lord are those who revere and worship Him. Our Lord Jesus Christ quoting from Deuteronomy 6:13 in Matthew 4:10 define “fear” as “worship”. The fear of the Lord will cause its custodian to gain access to God’s secret. Things that have been hidden from ages past are made known to those who fear the Lord. God is committed to those who fear Him and therefore reveals His covenant to them. Little wonder, the scripture says “THE FEAR OF THE LORD IS THE BEGINNING OF WISDOM: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever” (Ps 111:10). Also, in Proverbs 1:7, the bible tells us “THE FEAR OF THE LORD IS THE BEGINNING OF KNOWLEDGE: but fools despise wisdom and instruction” Those who have made Jesus the Lord of their lives are those who fear the Lord. And our opening scripture says “The secret of the LORD is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant” (Psalm 25:14). The secret of the Lord is with us. We’ve become custodians of eternal verities. The apostle Paul said “Let a man so account of us, as of the ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God” (1Cor 4:1). We’re stewards of the mysteries of God. Our Lord Jesus Christ said to His disciples “…He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given” (Matt 13:11. As Christ’s followers, we’ve been enabled to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven. At new birth, we were empowered to know and understand divine truth. And that has made us custodians of divine truths. In Colossians 1:26-27, the apostle Paul said “Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints: To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory” What has been hidden from ages has now been revealed to us. The Spirit who reveals the secret of God is now resident in us. He’s our ability! 1Corinthians 2:9-10 says “But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God” What has been kept secret is now revealed to us by God through His Spirit. God’s covenant which He will never alter has been shown to us by His Spirit. Halleluyah! Saints, we’re custodians of divine truths! Prayer Thank you Father for enabling me to know the mysteries of your kingdom. I am a custodian of spiritual truth. Halleluyah.
