July 29th, 1981......Randy Rhoads and the Ozzy Osbourne band - TopicsExpress

July 29th, 1981......Randy Rhoads and the Ozzy Osbourne band are scheduled to perform at the Civic Center in Ottawa. This show was cancelled due to the band accepting a premiere spot at the Port Vale concert in England. The band and crew along with Sharon Osbourne take an early morning flight from Montreal to London, England. Missing was Rudy Sarzo whom had to return to Los Angeles to sort out immigration issues. He would join them later. Upon arriving in London Ozzy calls the whole band up to his room to discuss the previous nights live recording in Montreal. It was said the whole band was not pleased with their performance and just like that the Montreal live recording was shelved and not heard from again until it was released in 1987 as the Ozzy Osbourne Randy Rhoads Tribute album. As Rudy Sarzo stated I believe the major reason the Montreal live recording was finally released was because it was the only remaining recorded work of Randys that had not been heard by the public. Which of course more material has turned up since.
