Jury duty in the Bible Belt: Defense attorney [to the potential jurists]: Do any of you go to church with [prosecuting attorney #1]? Jurists: No sir. Defense: Do any of you go to church with [prosecuting attorney #2]? Jurists: No sir. Defense: Do any of you go to church with the judge? Jurists: No sir. Defense: Do any of you go to church with me? Jurists: No sir. Defense: I should probably go to church more. Ha, just kidding. I actually live in Benton County. Ill admit that. However, or perhaps because of this, on the defense chart of potential jurists, under my name, there was just one thing written in big letters surrounded by a black box, and I assume the reason I was dismissed from jury duty after the initial lottery had me up on deck.
