Just a Remind :) Transport & Logistics Assistant employment opportunity for Commonwealth Games. SVGTV have an opportunity for a Transport & Logistics Assistant to start from just before the Games and continue through to a few days after the Games to assist with running transport schedules for 1,400 broadcast crew as well the logistics for equipment and deliveries across 17 sports and 14 venues. At the moment we’re making perfect plans to move the crew and equipment into, out of, and around Glasgow as well as Dundee and Edinburgh. As will all the best laid plans there will be many last minute changes to provide solutions for and so we are looking for someone who is a calm and logical problem solver that can prioritise a busy workload, has a good telephone manner, and is an experienced user of Excel spreadsheets. The SVGTV transport team will be providing cover from very early in the morning to late at night (around 0530 – 23:59) in order to bring forward, delay, find alternative transport options etc. in response to each day’s changes. It’s a critical role and it’s not to everyone’s liking, so please take some time to think this through before making a decision about applying. The role is a support role and is best suited to someone who understands that the strong logistical elements of this position is a behind-the-scenes role. This role will be of particular interest to Event Management students who are in their final year of study and for whom the next logical step is to gain paid work experience.
