In connection with Isis quest to recover the scattered pieces of her husband and to reconstitute him, we may add, from the anecdotal point of view, another explanation about the dollar sign origin: Sign $ The vertical line represents the “World Axis”, bridge between Heaven and Earth. The earlier drawing of the sign contained two vertical bars, instead of one, which referred to both ascending and descending phases alongside the axis.
