Just a few crystallized memories: MLK Day celebration with Stevie Wonder, Dr. Dre, Shelly Winters and a thousand kids, Eric Claptons From the Cradle show, talking with Maya Angelou & Norman Lear at Gospel Brunch, Nigel grabbing the mic from War in the middle of a song and announcing You all must leave the building immediately! Any minute now millions of gallons of water are going to pour into the club! followed by millions of gallons of water cascading down on the crowd from the Jake bar, Tom Jones and the flurry of panties and hotel keys, Dan Aykroyds opening party, walking in on Steven Spielberg & George Lucas in the FR, the time a guy posed as John Fogertys son and refused to pay his bill resulting in a night in jail, getting pulled over in the Blues Mobile because it looked too much like a cop car(!), some douchebag on the stairs to the FR handing Isaac his coat and saying take good care of that, Im a good friend of Isaac Tigrett(pronounced wrong) and IBT responding Im Isaac Tigrett, and if you have to lie to get in, you dont belong here, watching Carly Simon work out her nerves during sound check after years of not performing and then knocking it out of the park that night, getting on stage to sing with Solomon Burke and his family choir, Brian Setzer and his big band on New Years Eve,.. I could go on but I will finish for now with the very best of nights, the night I was voted employee of the year by the staff. Surely the pinnacle of my HOB career.
