Just a little FYI for anyone asking and sending kind words. As most of you who know me personally know I am a Diabetic and a heart patient with COPD having chronic Bronchitis and chest /lung infections frequently. Two months ago I was admitted into the hospital for 4 days with what chest pains and the usual signs of a heart attack as well as complications with my Diabetes, depression, neurological problems and COPD. I went into the Cath Lab where they found 3 blocked arteries. Two are too small to get to behind my heart and the third is an artery that was already opened with a stent that is starting to block up as well. The last course of action is heart bypass surgery. Right now they are holding off that option due to the seriousness of the operation. Ive learned they actually stop your heart during surgery and its 50/50 if it will start again after surgery. Thats the most frightening part other than the 3-4 month recovery time. Medication is being used to delay surgery but is just holding off what will happen eventually. A lifestyle change has been put in place for me as far as keeping my sugars low, no smoking, more rest, less stress and some kind of exercise even if I just walk a couple blocks a day when I can and changing my diet to eat healthier. Changing my life at 52 is hard after so many years. Im doing my best to keep myself around for a good long time. Ive done so much throughout my life, good, bad and ugly. But mostly good. And this is the hardest thing Ive encountered thus far. I have to much I want to accomplish before my time is up. Most people say they wouldnt change anything in their lives that they only have regret for the things they didnt do and not the things theyve done. If I had my life to live over again knowing what I know now I would definitely change a few things as far as keeping myself healthy. It may be a little too late for me but Id like to stress to my family and friends to change your lifestyle if thats whats making you sick. Eat healthy, exercise, stay in tune with what your body is telling you. If it hurts go see the doctor. If youre not sure~ go see the doctor. Catch what you can early, youll have a much better chance of beating the odds. And youll go on to live a long happy more healthy life.
