Just a little fact for our Math Nerds: Pythagoras did not invent the Pythagorean Theorem. The first instances of the theorem being used in construction date back as early as 3000 BC in ancient Egypt. They hadnt developed the concept of variables yet, so they used ropes to help them visualize the measurements needed for their construction projects. It wasnt until 500 BC that Pythagoras realized that there was a formula that correlated to the building techniques he had learned from Egyptian Priests. So, basically, Pythagoras has been getting credit for something he really didnt invent, (just kind of improved) for over 2500 years. The real inventor of the theorem has been lost in history. So...think about that the next time youre finding the hypotenuse of a triangle. :)
