Just a thought. The United States and not Russia is the largest - TopicsExpress

Just a thought. The United States and not Russia is the largest holder of Ukraine bonds Franklin Templeton alone holds over US $ 5 billion of bonds (Russia has 3) and contrary to logic or common sense the US fund had kept increasing its Ukraine bond portfolio throughout the crisis escalation days. While the structure was unraveling, yields on Ukraines bonds went up to astronomical heights of 42% (one day to 48%). That tells me that there might have been some certainty on the part of Franklin Templeton and those people who were about to make a killing on this (perhaps both literally as well as financially) that the putsch in Kiev will succeed, must succeed and then in defense of democracy the US controlled IMF (as well as EU before it) would move it and loan money to the Ukraine, which in turn will pay the off bankers and bond holders plus cover astronomical interest rates. That probably also explains the degree of backing behind the junta and the bellicosity against Russia, and the instant consent of Yats the Scientologist to any and all IMF conditions as long as the junta gets the money (it seems now that most of the money will go to the banks and foreign bond holders). The good news. In addition to Crimea Russia will probably cash in on its Ukraines bonds. Something that the Liberals in Russia claimed will be a total write-off, Putins folly, as it might turn out, thanks to the CIA (?), those bonds might become a good investment. businessweek/news/2014-02-19/franklin-templeton-boosted-bet-on-ukraine-in-fourth-quarter-1
