Just an observation, but yesterday Avery was sick and had to keep him home...my rule of just because your not at school doesnt mean you get out of learning. So we practiced spelling words and did his reading...then he wanted to read about birds, so we read the story about birds and he proceded to ask questions. I could tell his genuine interest in learning and we even watch some videos of ostariches(loved the fact they run really fast) He also did some math by writing the problems out himself to show me what he could do. But put a school worksheet in front of him and he immediately tenses up, and balks...he wants to learn, just maybe not in the way the curriculumn is set up. btw to the teachers out there, have you ever experienced kids that do better writing out their assignment then doing it from a worksheet? Just curious cause going to be trying this.
