Just arrived back from Torbay Hospital (what a lovely hospital!), Josephs op was delayed from 9am to 2pm due to an emergency (someone was stabbed in torbay!) 2pm he went down, Andrew went into the room for the anethestic and I watched through the window. They were laughing a joking, numbing cream made the cannula pain-free. He started to panic when he saw the magic milk syringe which is what puts him to sleep, so they all put a gas mask on his teddy bear to distract him (did the trick) and he fell asleep in Andrews arms. I was crying my eyes out watching with a kind grandad type nurse putting his arm around me. He came out of the op and I went down to recovery. He was screaming, rolling his eyes all over the place and groaning. I said to the nurse he has a trapped burp and he is in pain, he isnt a drama queen, I can hear that is an im in a pain cry. He then had synthetic morphine and fell asleep for about 35 mins, woke up - did a burp! (I said see I told you! and they all laughed and agreed mums know best!) Then he was back to his smiling self. Arm in an open type cast which isnt very strong to allow the swelling to come out, so very low impact week ahead for us. Thank you for everyone who thought of Joseph today xxxxxxxxxx instagram/p/rJx_nkH_Bq/?modal=true
