Just as God would send down fire down from heaven to show his - TopicsExpress

Just as God would send down fire down from heaven to show his approval; satan will make it appear that God is approving the false worship. Just as God approved Abels sacrifice because he did just as God commanded and brought him the right sacrifice, and Cain thought it wasnt necessary to do just as God commanded as long as he was bringing God a sacrifice. God approved of Abels sacrifice, by sending fire down from heaven. When Cain brought forth his sacrifice, God didnt send forth fire and this infuriated Cain so much that he killed his brother Abel. Gods command is precise. He wants us to worship on the day he sat apart as Holy and Sanctified which shows us that he is the one who sanctifies us and makes us Holy. He sat aside the 7th day for worship and rest being on Saturday not the first day being Sunday. So many find it doesnt matter what day you go by as long as you do it; but the story of Cain and Abel is to show us that God is specific. When Moses inaugurated the tabernacle in the wilderness, they did not kindle the fire, fire came down from heaven to show them God accepted their worship and their sacrifice. When Solomon inaugurated the temple that he built in Jerusalem, fire came down from God to show his he accepted his sacrifice; on Mount Carmel, the prophets of baal, did false worship, worshiped false gods, and no fire came down. Fire of God came down for Elisha, to show he accepted his worship and sacrifice. Likewise in the very end when the topic of worship comes into prominence, on how to worship and when, when a false alliance is formed that will go directly against the day God sat aside for rest and worship; satan will send fire down to make people believe God is showing acceptance of this worship that is in error to deceive people into thinking this is what God wants. Revelation 13:12 And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed. 13 And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men, 14 And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live Isaiah 8:16 Bind up the testimony, seal the law among my disciples I gave them my sabbaths, to be a sign between me and them, that they might know that I am the Lord that sanctify them. Ezekiel 20:12. It is a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever: for in six days the Lord made heaven and earth. Exodus 31:17. God is saying in the verses above that He gave us His Sabbath as a glorious sign of His power to create and His power to sanctify (convert and save) us. In the Bible, the words seal, sign, mark, and token are used interchangeably.7 Gods sign, the Sabbath, represents His holy power to rule as Creator and Saviour. Revelation 7:1-3 says it will be written upon the foreheads (minds, Hebrews 10:16) of His people. It will signify that they are owned by Him and have His character. Hebrews 4:4-10 confirms this by saying that when we enter His rest (receive salvation), we should keep His seventh-day Sabbath holy as a symbol, or mark, of salvation. The mark of the beast will go in direct opposition to the seal of God. Ezekiel 22:26 Her priests have violated my law, and have profaned mine holy things: they have put no difference between the holy and profane, neither have they shewed difference between the unclean and the clean, and have hid their eyes from my sabbaths, and I am profaned among them. Isaiah 58:1 - Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and shew my people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins. 2 Yet they seek me daily, and delight to know my ways, as a nation that did righteousness, and forsook not the ordinance of their God: they ask of me the ordinances of justice; they take delight in approaching to God. Isaiah 58:13 - If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the Lord, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words: 14 Then shalt thou delight thyself in the Lord; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it. Chancellor Albert Smith for Cardinal of Baltimore Archdiocese, letter dated February 10, 1920: If Protestants would follow the Bible, they should worship God on the Sabbath day by God is Saturday. In keeping the Sunday, they are following a law of the Catholic Church . Protestantism of To-Day (London: Thomas Richardson and Son, 1874): 213: Thus the observance of Sunday by the Protestants is a homage they pay, in spite of themselves, to the authority of the (Catholic) Church.
