Just back from hearing Rachel Brown at the GAR hall, I will say this as someone who has spent his entire life in entertainment and worked with some of the best there is and have been if there is a better singer I dont have a clue who that might be. She is Linda Ronstadt, EmmyLou Harris and Patsy Cline all rolled into one. As tender on a ballad it will break your heart, clear, sweet tones that climb and dip and soar like a warm breeze and as ballsy as a whiskey soaked barroom floor. Mien Gott in Himmel, what a joy and the Beatnik Playboys are the absolute perfect companion to her style. Dave Huddleston, Bill Watson and Roy King the ultimate professionals. What a wonderful night capped off by a well deserved standing O by the full house! for those who still believe it is better somewhere else I challenge you to find better. Great venue, great performance. Go find the talent in this area, at The Beachland Ballroom, Wilberts, The Prosperity Social Club, The Happy dog, The Parkview and of course the grand daddy of all the music clubs for 7 nights a week music, 2 to 3 acts a night, The Barking Spider. This is a short list, there are many, many more venues and fantastic artists. Get off your Dupas and go seek them out and enjoy, youll thank me, your mother will thank me, your father will thank me, your children will thank me.
