Just back from the Hot Hob and I know its not even finished but hey its a school night. Driving into Brentwood was like getting back on a bike. I grew up here I know so many cut thrus and short cuts but its been years since i was there. I even made the mistake of stopping at the station to run up the stairs that are now demolished and get money from the cash machine that isnt there anymore. Still I see Alan Sugars old head office is a Premier Inn so quite a lots changed. The last time I played here was in 2002 in the pub thats now the Sugar Hut of TOWIE fame. I played at a jam there on bass and hung up my spurs so to speak before moving to Milton Keynes. My abiding memory of that was being too busy during the chorus of honky tonk women (well it was getting boring) and getting daggers from everyone :) Anyway- its a great little venue and a terrific atmosphere Id love to go again and I might crack the bass out of retirement as the guitar players put me to shame frankly and i dont want to do solo stuff here as it eats into valuable jam time. When the throats better ill bring the Harps instead (much easier to pack)
