Just been watching the Sunday Politics - apparently Unite is on the verge of taking over the Labour Party, parachuting in Left wing candidates from working class back grounds. Ha ha ha ha ha ha. Clearly the right wing think the best tactic is to cry wolf the first time they lose their inalienable right to put middle class careerists into every seat going. The pundits view: its really good politically for Ed Miliband to be seen to be resisting the unions, by stepping into the Falkirk process and barring new members from voting in the selection. Perhaps instead of giving money to some of these constituencies, or the Party nationally, the unions should start using the money to employ their own union political organisers in each area - so that the union continues to control these resources, and can use them to support the Labour Party in ways and locations it chooses.
