Just been watching the superb new BBC documentary of the life of the great Jimi Hendrix. It made me realise how frustrating it must be for artists who struggle to get recognition like Jimi and then just not know where to take it. Most of them settle for a life of luxury but Jimi said luxury was like a prison. You just got fat and bloated with it and then produced nothing worthwhile. I guess the other point that comes across is we also have a struggle to gain intellectual knowledge - to say things that have some significance - rather than just be dancing puppets on a stage for peoples entertainment. Died at the young age of 27.
