Just before Christmas two little elves appeared at Tumaini - - TopicsExpress

Just before Christmas two little elves appeared at Tumaini - actually, they were volunteers, they weren’t so little, and the first, “Erica” is a long standing supporter who sponsors Athuman and returned this year with her mom! . . . The second, “Holly” (how appropriate for this time of year) is a “newbie” or first time volunteer with us at Tumaini, who forewent Christmas gifts from her family so she could buy us a new refrigerator at Tumaini and, along with Mom and Dad and friends have offered to sponsor Angela, Glory and brother Elisha!!! Now, before I get too far along in this story about Christmas elves I would like to ask some of you former volunteers to insert YOUR names into this story along with YOUR contributions, for, although Erica and Holly are our VERY special elvettes of 2014, so very many of you have volunteered, have contributed in enormous ways to benefit our Tumaini family and there are no words to express our gratitude. So . . . back to Erica and Holly (and the rest of you!), who, organized, wrapped, packed and shopped for a wonderful Christmas for our kids; hosted and helped to prepare and present our Christmas meal, escorted children to visit extended family members, all the while, preparing uniforms, shoes, trunks, etc. for school; sending out school reports and helping our kids say thank you. Oh, and not to mention squeezing in a safari to see the big five (lion, hippo, buffalo, leopard and elephant). Teaching, caring, playing, helping, guiding, disciplining, loving . . . we have been SO very blessed to enjoy all of this and more from our volunteers. Dada Izzy and her family fundraised and brought Raymond to Australia to intern with “Baba Tim” . . . Dada Astrid helped start Timo in a new business so that he could find the money to build a “real” house for his family. Kaka Christian brought us a new washing machine and new mattresses for our little ones . . . There have been many, many volunteers who have stepped up and reached out to help our family so how do we say thank you? And there are some important thank yous I must pass along to those “volunteers” who help me . . . to our board of directors in Canada . . . John Davies and Lisa Engelhardt-Robinson and Bonnie Wardell and Charlene Cleland . . . thank you . . . to my dear friends who love, support, forgive and did I say support me and what I do . . . thank you. And finally, to my family, my daughter Amanda, sons Stephen and Kelvin and my husband Steve . . . thank you, thank you, thank you . . .
