Just came across this email: COMMUNIQUE FROM THE OFFICE OF THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR STUDENT SERVICES Threat of Strike 25 February 2013 Dear All Hearing the rumours spread across the campus through the social network system about the students protest that is set to take place today (25/02/2013), this notice serves to indicate to all of you that we as the WSRC do not know about such arrangements. I would like to put this on record that firstly it was a student mass meeting which was called on behalf of the SRC without the SRC knowing and the information that was issued on that invitation communiqué. I would also like to indicate that we are (WSRC) currently being named as sell outs, being intimidated by certain individuals. This is just a mere group of students, some of them are not even registered students of UKZN who are pushing their political unrest trying to mislead and corrupt innocent students so that they will all fall into the same trap. However, despite all allegations, we are still prepared to serve our students as we have been doing so.
