Just came back from a successful ascent of Mt. Isarog (1966 masl) with my brother, who climbed the mountain for the first time. It was also his first major climb. Despite the rough terrain, with the trail wet and slippery due to rains during our two-day climb, we were able to come home safe and sound. Not a few times that I slipped going down though. Hehe. But its all worth it, with the beauty of this remaining tract of tropical rainforest in Bicol Region. Mount Isarog National Park is also one of the first national parks in the Philippines, having been declared as one in the 1930s.
