Just changed my wheels. Had a bit of a shimmy with the after mark - TopicsExpress

Just changed my wheels. Had a bit of a shimmy with the after mark G2 rims I got from Redback Tyres no issues with Redback, but the rims had to be modified to suit the Jag. 18 G2 fitted. I drive from Redcliffe to the city every day so rarely get over 80ks. I had to drive to Sydney for work and found that at 95Km/hr + I got a bit of a shimmy which didnt go away....even up to 200k/hr. I blamed my mech who did the wheel alignment...then I stated check the Pwr Steering/suspension,bushes, rack and what ever...all good. Today I put my old rims/tyres back on to prove it was a steering/suspension issue and found that I had no problems...slight (and I mean very slight) vibration at 110K, but all good all the way up to 230k (if I could do that legally and stuff). So at the end of the day, I guess what I am saying is Leave it to the professionals, dont just change the rims cause ya wanta be a bro or cool. Im back off to Jag to get the shinny rims and see how that goes. With my ok G2 rims I am investing in a mining operation given the amount of lead is on them to balance. I reiterate I have no issues with Redback Tyres, their professionalism and assistance which was servery lacking from everyone else was greatly appreciated.
