Just finished a fantastic reading of An Anthropologist on Mars by Oliver Sachs. If youre concerns and prejudices about disabled people overwhelm you, then read this great book. The writer explores, from a neurological perspective, how disabled people are able to creatively re-adapt to different environments in order to function and thrive, sometimes far exceeding people who appear to have all their senses. He maintains that we are born with a myriad of neurological pathways which we dont always necessarily use or tap into unless we are presented with a disability and thus, nature quite often goes off the beaten track to discover new ways of coping and interacting. So quit your own myopia and prejudices and work on yourself!!!
