Just finished the toughest school year in the last 20 years of teaching. I feel shell shocked and a bit like I know what war fatigue is all about. I wake up at night terrified that I have a confrontational parent meeting. One where they want to know why I failed their dear darling child, (who never lies) when they are only missing 18 assignments and failed 90% of their tests. This is after two progress reports where they got "F UU" and the comment "In danger of fail" and "Missing assigned work" and a history of breaking every classroom rule. They then yell that I should have called them and I should not be in a classroom. I want to tell them they should never have been allowed to be a parent.
