Just finished watching one of my favorite films, The Witchfinder General (1968). The director of the movie, Michael Reeves, was only 25 when he made the film, and very shortly afterwards was dead of a drug overdose. When you see his extremely bleak view of humanity in that film, you get the distinct feeling he thought that life was indeed worth losing. None the less, his untimely dead was a tragic loss to cinema.
