Just found out that Leonard Knight died last month at age 82. If you saw the 2007 movie Into the Wild youll recall that real-life character who lived out in the desert near the Salton Sea and built this wild adobe mound of 30 feet high and 150 feet long, painted in multi colors and Biblical statements all over it. That real-life character who had a few minutes in the movie was Leonard Knight. Knight was an expatriate from Vermont who settled in the SoCal desert 30 years ago where he lived out of a trailer and began his adobe mound structure as a tribute to his belief in Jesus.
