Just found out that my grandfather on my mothers side left us last night. He was an awesome grandfather to have. Always had a good joke and was always mild natured. I fondly remember him taking us for walks and his enthusiasm for his model train hobby, his skill with a harmonica. He always impressed me as being the ideal for a grandfather. He had a ukelele which we of course rambunctiously played around with an inevitable broke, and he simply repaired it and thought nothing of it. I literally have nothing but fond memories of him. He led a lengthy and full life, surrounded by people who loved him for much of it. He was a simple man and its difficult for me to find much more to say about him. He always made the entire family laugh. I think besides that, what I took most from his presence was his peacefulness and sense of humor. I am extremely grateful to have had him in my life and will miss his absence. On the upside, my mother and grandmother are taking it extremely well.
