I read the Cato Institute op-ed today and found it just wrong...counting only the $$ for insurance, not the $$ or more importantly the HUMAN cost of people NOT being insured. Even if you only consider the ongoing costs of people getting unreimbursed ER and other crisis oriented care it is staggering, and could have put UAMS and any other place that usually provides charitable and stabilization level of care into a hole wed be hard put to climb out of.
