Just got this Email: Dear Cindee, As of this afternoon, the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region (HSPPR) has taken in more than 150 pets displaced by the Black Forest Fire and other fires in the area. Our Animal Law Enforcement officers are going into the evacuation areas to rescue pets, including large operations to rescue horses in pre-evacuation zones. In addition to caring for evacuated pets at our main facility, HSPPR is helping to keep pets and families together by operating a temporary animal shelter in Monument alongside the Red Cross shelter. WE NEED YOUR HELP TO SUPPORT ANIMALS DURING THIS EMERGENCY Why are additional funds needed during a disaster?
