Just got this email from Tucson Speedway Attn All Drivers, In the fall of 2012, Tucson Speedway advisors made the commitment to bring quality asphalt racing back to Tucson and Southern Arizona by acquiring the lease of the race track located at the Pima County Fairgrounds. After thousands of man hours working and major capital investments in the track surface, buildings and equipment, Tucson Speedway held its first race on April 6, 2013. We have spent the past year building our car count, putting policies in place, hiring quality track employees, and learning a lot (good and bad) about running a race track. Tucson Speedway would like to thank all of the drivers and car owners for the support they have shown in building, maintaining and racing their cars. We continue to see the car counts grow, and new cars being built/acquired. Tucson Speedway has made another commitment to the racing community by submitting our application and deposit to NASCAR to become a NASCAR Home Track starting in July 2014. NASCAR officials are planning on flying into Tucson on May 1st to meet with drivers, crews, and car owners and will answer any questions you may have. Tucson Speedway along with NASCAR will hold a press conference on May 1st to make the formal announcement. The Summer/Fall 10 race season will be a NASCAR sanctioned season, which will include a points fund for both a NASCAR track championship and a NASCAR State Championship. Our first full NASCAR racing season will begin in March 2015 and run through October 2015. Once again, thank you to everyone who is supporting Tucson Speedway. Brad Corneliusen Tucson Speedway
