Just had a first with animal rescue. Driving back to Ems parents house, pulled into their neighborhood and found a small barn owl flailing about in the road with an injured wing. I put a blanket over him and he hopped away onto the shoulder of the road and he and I had a stare-off, trying to let him know I was there to help. Got him wrapped up and he let me pick him up and I held him while Em drove us to a 24hr emergency vet about 25 minutes away. Got some talons to the stomach, but hopefully he will be at a bird of prey rehab in the morning. Such a cool cool experience with such a sweet little creature. Hope to find out that hes going to be alright.
