Just in from the City of Redlands: We have heard from numerous City water customers since implementing water restrictions last week that their timers arent capable of programming for odd and even days as required by the policy. Almost all digital timers will allow for this option. Please visit the Citys website, cityofredlands.org/drought, to find several links with instructions on how to make the necessary changes to different common brands of timers. If you have an older timer that is NOT digital, and does not support an odd/even schedule, the City offers incentives for replacement to a weather based smart irrigation timer, which will have the necessary setting option. Pre-inspections and post-inspections are required. For further assistance please call the Citys Water Conservation Coordinator Cecilia Griego at (909) 798-7516. APPROVED WATERING DAYS: * EVEN addresses: Even days of the month (2nd, 4th, 6th, etc.) * ODD addresses: Odd days of the month (1st, 3rd, 5th, etc) ** The water restrictions policy took effect immediately in response to the states emergency order July 28. The initial notifications were made through the press, the City’s website and social media, including Facebook and Twitter. Fliers have been placed at City facilities and electronic message boards have been placed around town with information on the restrictions. Notices will also be sent along with the next cycle of City utility bills. Anyone found to be out of compliance will be given two warning notices without penalty before a 25 percent surcharge is added to the customer’s commodity charge on their water bill. Remember, the Citys goal is compliance not penalties.
