Just left a very sad visit at the pound. The majority of the 16 dogs that I found missing are dead along with a few others I never even knew reached the pound. We learned through a fecal at Dr. Pitts that the remaining pups at the pound have coccidia. Hopefully they will receive treatment today before they get too ill. The dogs who are dead are that way because they were put down for fighting (all male unneutered dogs crammed in the same pen) or disease that did not receive veterinary care to give them a fighting chance. Our city leaders need to get off their butts and do what is right.
