Just opened todays mail and got a letter from our secondary insurance....DENIAL letter for her surgery on the 14th claiming that it is a VOLUNTARY surgery. First of all...there is NOTHING voluntary about it...there is an open hole that is leaking intestinal and gastric fluid and fecal matter out of it.....I cant find anything voluntary about the need to have it closed. It is VERY much a health AND safety issue. Secondly, the billing department has our secondary as our primary and NOT Tricare as our primary. THAT is corrected now, BUT...had we not had Tricare, we would have been rowing up IT creek without a paddle and nothing but a piece of wood to stand on. Sucks when the job of who chooses what is and is not mandatory med care is not left in the hands of the docs...and Ill leave that statement hanging right there...
