Just physical ability is not enough. - Michael Ballack I love being proud of this group of 23 about having the never say die mentality. But NEWSFLASH, nobody mails it in in the world cup. Every team has the never say die mentality. Did Algeria and Switzerland give up? Did Mexico give up? The mentality isnt enough. The technical and tactical mistakes are clear. The lack of depth, and in my opinion the lack of a true starting 11 is clear. We lose Jozy and its on the ESPN bottom line and everyone knows about it. Belgium loses Christian Benteke and they are on to the quarterfinals. Although this group of 23 were successful, dont drink the koolaid and say the USA have arrived. We scored 4 goals in this world cup and half were scored by players developed in the German youth system, not in the United States. Although we have a very bright future, I still dont believe we have achieved what is called the Golden Era of Players. I truly hope this happens in my lifetime and I BELIEVE it will. Im worried about who will take over for Jurgen down the line. So we all must be urgent in getting ready for the next cycle.
