Just ran my Ideal Gas theory past my dad. Hes the sports genious, - TopicsExpress

Just ran my Ideal Gas theory past my dad. Hes the sports genious, but I do know something about pressure changes due to temperature. It occurs to me that all of these folks are accusing a quarterback and his coach of cheating because of a lowering of pressure in a football. Has it occurred to anyone that this may have been a natural phenomenon created by cold temps? Also, according to daddy, the refs should have noted any changes in the ball weight and feel. It seems a little bit unfair to be accusing these folks of being cheats when it could just be that the ball experienced a change in pressure due to cold temps? I may be totally naive about how football players cheat, but I think we all know that our tires seem flatter in the winter. Why wouldnt that also happen to footballs?
