Just read our response below :D Their “ad”: “We want Market Basket associates back to work and reiterate that they can return without fear of penalty,” the company said. “We again acknowledge and understand how difficult this situation has been for associates. “However, we also need to have associates working to support stores, customers and vendors,” the statement continued. “We need associates to return to work on Monday, August 4th. We understand that some associates may choose not to return, consequently we will begin advertising for employment opportunities. “Our hope and strong preference is to have Market Basket’s incredible associates return to work,” the statement added. “Again, any associate that wants to return will be welcomed and not penalized OUR ad: “We want Market Basket’s CEO (Arthur T.) back to work and reiterate that we won’t return to shop at your stores until he’s rehired. We acknowledge and understand how difficult this must be to comprehend for the current co-CEOs and Board of Directors.” “However, we also know what will happen to our “more for your dollar” store should this not occur. We, as customers, need to have complete confidence in upper management when it comes to the place we rely on for food staples, and understand the co-CEOs and Board of Directors may choose to not hear us.” “Our hope and strong preference is to have Arthur S., the co-CEOs, and Board of Directors acknowledge that this is a customer-led boycott and that no amount of buyers and warehouse workers they hire will change our resolve to continue the boycott of Market Basket until this grievous matter is put to rest. “ “Finally, we WILL penalize current upper management for failing to heed our warning and continually ignore our voice by extending our boycott for as long as necessary.” “In closing, you forget that we’re New Englanders. We waited 86 years for a World Series win without once giving up our belief in our team. The co-CEOs and B.O.D. have seriously underestimated our resolve.” “Business 101: Without customers – there is no business.” You’re welcome. The loyal customers of Market Basket (Arthur T. style).
