Just received this from a co-worker of mine - A plea from a father... Please read. I pray he does find a match: Today I am asking for your help.... As a lot of you are aware 3 1/2 yrs ago I was diagnosed with Cancer..After 18 months of chemo not working my only option was to have a stem cell transplant which I did and until about a month ago it managed to keep me in remission. As of recent test results I have been told once again I have cancer..... I was told last Friday that I have a very high grade... aggressive lymphoma again and that it is not curable from Chemo and that my only hope of survival is a another Bone Marrow Transplant ASAP... this time from an outside donor..I am asking and pleading all of my friends and any of their friends to please please please consider signing up as a potential bone marrow donor to possibly give me life. I have an amazing little 8 year old daughter Maci who means the absolute world to me and my biggest fear is not getting to watch her grow up..Last night I had to talk to he about my cancer as I am beginning treatments today and as she cried and hugged me she asked me if I was going to die from cancer like her Grampie just did..That broke my heart but also just gave me a boost of strength I think I needed to get ready for the fight...I told her "you know dad is bigger and stronger than any cancer" I made a promise to her I would not die and would fight the fight of whatever they threw at me just like before.. But this is where I need help..I can Fight...but I NEED a Bone Marrow donor to arm myself for the fight...its my only hope.... The process of becoming a donor is very simple I will put the web link below for onematch.ca or if you find it easier you can call 1-888-2DONATE. Its now a fairly simple process where they mail you a mouth swab kit to you house and return by mail...and you or someone you know may be my match. If not me, then possibly someone out there just like me that is waiting for someone to give them life. You have to be between the ages of 17 - 35 to be a marrow donor. However most others can donate platelets, blood..etc..all needed during the transplant process. Over my struggle with cancer I have had an outpouring of help offered by many...... Today I am asking everyone who called or messaged to say "anything I can do to help let me know"...this is my day to say "I need all the help I can get" Please Share and pass this along to anyone you think may help...It only takes one match.... Thank You for Reading and considering, Rod Wilson onematch.ca
