Just saw Le Weekend-Jim Broadbent and Lindsay Duncan as a British - TopicsExpress

Just saw Le Weekend-Jim Broadbent and Lindsay Duncan as a British couple in their 60s on a fugue weekend in Paris, where their marital discontent has followed them. It was like a non-glib Woody Allen movie. I kind of loved it, despite its too-real darkness. Youve contrived to chuck away your numerous talents, Meg (Lindsay) tells Nick (Jim). Sssss. Then again, an insufferable American friend of NIcks whom they run into in Paris (Jeff Goldblum) has taken his talents farther than they should have got him, but is loathsome. He recalls something Nick (as William S. Gilbert of G&S) said in Topsy-Turvy: Theres something inherently disappointing about success. And non-success... But the movie made me want to go to Paris, and book the gorgeous hotel Meg and Nick did. So...nothing disappointing about Paris, au moins.
