Just saw the trailer for The Equalizer and I couldnt be more disappointed. This adaptation looks exactly like Liam Neesons last 27 films... but apparently he was busy so they cast Denzel Washington. The movie could be fantastic and given it reunites Denzel & the director of Training Day, it wouldnt surprise me at all if it is... BUT... while it borrows its title and main characters name from the source material it misses everything that made the show so great. The weakness of small screen cinematography in the 80s was actually a STRENGTH for the show; it gave it a gritty dirty feel that perfectly complemented the setting and situations. A lot of my gripe does revolve around the casting of Washington. Black or white, I dont care but it NEEDS to be someone older & English.
