Just sharing a visual meditation I wrote for our improvisation workshop in Santa Fe earlier this year… When you wake up you’re floating on a cloud. You sink into the clouds soft embrace and breathe in the warmth of the sun. The breeze is cool whisper on your skin. In the rolling shapes of the clouds you see the faces of your loved ones - your friends and family. Their faces transform from one person to the next and they are laughing, smiling, the happiest you have ever seen them. You heart fills with joy and the memories you share with them. You feel a drop of rain on your face. Then another. For the first time the faces in the clouds look uncertain. The sky darkens and deep shadows fill the faces around you. More rain. Its drizzling now and your clothes are getting wet. A flash of lightning illuminates the sky and in the faces you see open fear and you heart begins to race. Thunder rolls through the sky and slaps the earth far below you. Its echo rings in your ears and the rain begins to pound. There is sensation of sinking and you realize your cloud is dissolving in the rain. You look to the faces and cry for help but they are melting away becoming a part of the deluge. You feel the cloud against your skin. Its thinning, like stretched cotton, and barely supports your weight. Vertigo and fear consume you. As the last shred of cloud disappears you scream but the sound is lost in massive clap of thunder that shakes the sky. The cloud disappears and you begin to fall. A violent rush of air. Another clap of thunder then a flash of lightning illuminates the sky. Far above you there is a final face. The mother of all things. She is smiling and you feel a glimmer of hope. The lightning bolt crackles through the air and you reach out to grab it. Your hand wraps about the bolt and electricity courses through your body. Pure limitless energy flashes in your eyes and radiates from you. You are a spark of universal energy and you slam, unhurt, into the earth in a cascade of electricity. As you stand you feel the ground feeding on your energy, growing from your gift. In the ripples of your impact you see the seeds of mountains begin to grow. You lift your face to the sky, rain plastering your hair and clothes to your body. You whisper a thank you to the all-mother but the sound is lost in the howl of the wind. She is gone but you know in your heart that she hears you anyway.
