Just spent 45 minutes trying to get to work. First clue that it was going to bad.. 30 degrees, raining and fire whistles blaring at 6am. Took my shower got dressed and slid out of my driveway. Figured route 130 should be OK. First street is always last to be salted. Accidents on Saunders station road with fire trucks everywhere. I turned around and stopped a nurse trying to get to work. Thought I would try 130 east into Irwin. There is an accident just past Phillips Monument. Cant get past it. I turned around and thought i would try 130 west into Trafford. Turned onto Jane street and left onto Cherry. Creeped down Cherry and turned onto Murrysville Road and right into Sandra then left onto Wayne Drive. I avoided that hill in front of the PTARC building. Turned right onto 130 again and thought that with a wing and a prayer I could get down that big hill past Bellow Woods into Trafford. Another nurse stopped me and said turn around. Nobody is moving down the hill. There are several cars in the Citgo gas station parking lot. Nobody is moving. Thought about taking First street past our house and going into Trafford. A large diesel truck was sliding down the hill. I backed down so that he wouldnt slide into me. The kind man stopped me and told me First street is a sheet of ice and to turn around. I thanked him and said Im going home. He asked where I lived and said about 600 yards up the hill. He said good luck. I slid back up the hill. Im not moving until I see a salt truck. Sorry Dani and Dr Bill. I am literally stuck with no other way to get there other than Murrysville Road into Murrysville. That hill into Murrysviile is steep and windy. Not even trying.
