Just thought I would share this with you. Yuval Ron and his ensemble are a group of famous middle eastern musicians and will be in the area this weekend. It is rare that we get the chance to experience the middle eastern culture or its music first hand and as belly dancers it is important that we educate ourselves on this beautiful culture as we are representing it even if we are only performing for fun. When others see us performing they are viewing middle eastern culture through the window of our art form and it is important that we represent it with as much accuracy as we have available and with the richness that it deserves.
