Just to keep local people in the know, I have received a letter - TopicsExpress

Just to keep local people in the know, I have received a letter from the Ministry of Defence which goes as follows: I am writing to inform you that a trial is to be undertaken between 2nd and 4th September 2014 at the Ministry of Defence (MOD) Shoeburyness Range which will include a one-off explosion that may exceed the sites self imposed noise limit of 125 Decibels (dB). The resulting noise will be more audible than usual off-site. Although the trial will support an important element of the UKs ballistic missile defence studies, I would like to assure you that it will not proceed if weather and acoustic conditions indicate that a noise level exceeding 135 dB will be achieved; the UKs statutory noise limit is 140 dB. In that event, the trial will be postponed until weather conditions are more suitable. So if you hear a big bang sometime between 2nd and 4th September, dont worry, were not being bombed!
