Just to let everyone know, I do try to explain to people how to handle different problems that they are having but there are some people that just want to get rid of their animals. The ARK OF HOPE Animal Rescue has been doing this for over 21 years now. To be certain that I would NEVER tell anyone to dump their animals anywhere! I was told that we had a new Cat store in Cumberland. After receiving approximately 20+ calls the other day people wanting The Ark of Hope to take stray cats or cats that have been dumped, family members had died, he has his own cats and dont want any more and no one else wants them cats, etc. I started telling them to contact the new place. Well this morning I was once again educated. This was a notification that I received.... Dianne, Please do not refer anyone to my store to dump their cats. While I appreciate the confidence in us that we can help the man you sent, especially given all of the trash talk thats being said about me by a certain group of people, we are not open yet. We also do not ever take owner surrenders. My rescue SOLELY works with shelters, strays, and ferals. Its in our by-laws and its what I believe in. I gave the man some options that anyone could have given him, especially how to introduce cats properly so the cat does not need to be rehomed. Thank you Michelle Ingrodi
