Just watched Richard Williamss THE THIEF AND THE COBBLER (1993, 90 min, USA). This is an animated movie about a thief whose actions gets a city under siege, and a cobbler that has to save the day. This movie was a 25 labor of love by Williams, and its a damn shame that it was never officially finished. It was taken out of his hands (apparently he took too long) and butchered in several different versions. The version I watched is the truest to the intended version, but it is a work-copy with storyboarded segments. Regardless (and I want to make this absolutely clear) this is the most amazing animation I have seen in over a decade.
