Just watched Space Station 76. I have been looking forward to this movie since I heard the concept for it. Do a sci-fi movie 70s style. A look thats a bit Jason of star command, a bit space 1999, and a touch of silent running. And play it totally serious. Not a comedy, a 70s science fiction drama. They nailed the look with the fashion, decor, and technology. The 70s music is perfect. This movie would be epic except.......... The script SUCKS!!!!!!!! The story is like some independent film character study of a bunch of broken characters. The whole movie is about how the characters issues run their lives with no major conclusion at the end. You could maybe say a couple of them actually learn what their issues are, but thats it. And there is zero action. ZERO!! Nothing to get excited about in this story. The one thing you think is building up to be what gets everyone doing something. Or something that brings everyone together. Or the thing that turns out to be the big problem to solve. Turns out to be nothing. Nothing but a big let down. The story could have been written to take place anywhere. In the end you feel with all the awesome sets, all the vintage looking wardrobe, all the potential to be something great, this was just a waste of time.
