Just watched the news this a.m.and seen that the TN.department of education wants to tie teacher licences to test score data! That is absurd,moronic and completely unfair to teachers!who is the genius who spent the energy and taxpayer money to propose this bill? REALLY? So by passing such a bill basically holds teachers responsible for everything that happens in a students life in school and out of school! Because what happens out of school or doesnt happen out of school adversely effects what happens in school! Yes I believe teachers should be held accountable for their performance or lack there of.but holding them accountable with their professional licence, their lively hood,for circumstances beyond their control is lunacy!!!teachers are not with students at home! They are not there to make them do their homework,study for tests,read their required books for points,make sure the students are not mentally and physically abused,control their diets and sugar intakes,to make sure their students have the proper surroundings and home life that is conducive to a well rounded,mentally and emotionally balanced child.teachers have been made the scapegoats for all of these other extenuating circumstances!start holding the parents responsible for their childrens progress or lack of.stop passing the buck!just my opinion and support of the wonderful caring teachers that I know who go way beyond to support our children to see that they are reaching their potential!!
