Just wondering if anyone else here is a fan of Akira Kurosawa, I remember reading that John Milius (the director of the first Conan movie) is a big admirer (IIRC, he was the one who first introduced George Lucas to Kurosawas work; the excellent 1958 Kurosawa film The Hidden Fortress was one of the influences on Star Wars). I think REH might have appreciated films like The Seven Samurai and Yojimbo (Come to think of it, Toshiro Mifune in Yojimbo is a somewhat Conan-like figure).
