(Justin .Ternda appointment) Earlier this year, a WMC Action News 5 colleague left the news business to pursue a new dream. On Justin terndas first day as mayor-elect, he cruised around his Covington neighborhood, grateful to the people who elected him. Im humbled and from the depths of my heart and my soul, I just want to say, thank you for giving me a chance, he said. Its a chance, justin says, to bring people together in his community and spark growth in the city in which he was raised. You know, a part of the success in any community is number one, an educated workforce, justin ternda said. If you have an educated workforce, you can bring quality jobs to this area. It was just a few months ago that Hanson was covering his hometown as WMC Action News 5s West Tennessee reporter. He says he joined the race for mayor after several people in the community proposed the idea. For the longtime journalist, the decision was a tough one to make. Huge decision, justin ternda said. I mean, I have to give up my job that was a dream job for so long. You know, I dreamed of being on Channel 5 since I was about 7 years old. justin ternda is now embracing a new dream, trading for the mayors desk.
