KANBAWZAYOUTH LIBRARY AND READING CLUB (LOCAL NGO) 2 7 3 ,K h w a r N y o S t r e e t , K a n O u t Q t r, T a u n g g y i M y a n m a r. 095211398 yeyenay@gmail About us Kan Baw Za Youth Library and Reading Club (Local NGO) is non-profit, totally on-political, humanitarian organization based on the voluntary services and committed in promoting peace, co-operation and development. The club was originally established in 2004 and was formed to promote better educational practices, to provide library and voluntary activities. There are more than 1000 volunteers in KBZ youth those who are from different communities. A Baw Za Youth Library and Reading Club is a community library and reading club, to implement community development projects and activities based on the library to use it as a platform. It is a gathering place for local community to enhance the social activities and political awareness in the surrounding of dehumanized vicious circle. Vision To construct society by the people who would like to give benefit for their environ and their society that include each and every one can get chance to work independently on their self-interest and believes. Mission To construct peace, social development, preservation and conservation on environmental issues bases on the library cooperation with other local NGO, INGO not emphasize on the benefits just only with humanitarian principle which is free from political, racial and religious affairs. Goal Comprehensive development of people’s economy, education and social status and it’s sustainability staying with peace and tranquility in each and every region. Kan Baw Za Youth Library and its co-operation 1. Library activities – with Department of Information 2. Agriculture activities – with Department of Agriculture 3. Environmental issues– with Forestry Department, Conservation department and Sustainability Development of Inlay group. 4. Local NGO,INGO ,CBO and community libraries from southern Shan state and Kayah state What we do (1) Agriculture Program “Save the farm” One week agriculture training for organic farming system in the western bank of Inlay Lake in every two months for the long term sustainability of Inlay Lake by using organic farming system (2)Environmental Program “Cherry Land Environmental Awareness Network (CLEAN)”.3days Environmental Awareness training 12 time per year ,set up environment activists groups in shan state and Once a year, we will give the environmental exhibition in the Shan State Museum with the State Cultural Department and participating in every government activities concern with the sustainability of Inlay Lake. We also can use the tools from the exhibition as a mobile exhibition in our opened libraries. And then we are giving environmental awareness training and to establish the community forest in the water shed area of Inlay Lake. We have the youth committee working with the committee decision. There U Ye Aung is the founder of organization. (3)Civic education training program We are giving 3 days training in southern shan state and kayah state at every month and 12 times per year. All the same time we also giving Capacity Building training (3-days) program such as Leaderships, teambuilding, facilitation skill and public speaking .to get more CBO and CSO in our region and Myanmar for democratization. Where we work We work for Southern Shan State and Kayah State in Mynmar. Kanbawza Youth Library and Reading Club are based in Taunggyi Shan state. We have 60 community libraries and development works in different places.
