KAPISANAN NG MGA BRODKASTER NG PILIPINAS (KBP-ILOILO CHAPTER) OFFICIAL STATEMENT Called by our duty as members of the Media, regarded as vanguard of truth and freedom, We, the members of the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas (KBP) - Iloilo Chapter, wish to make our position known on the alleged unlawful search and manhandling of Aksyon Radyo personnel and a security guard of the Zuellig Pharma Corporation, by some members of the SWAT Team, who conducted a search operation in the premises of the said radio station at 2:14 AM of August 25, 2013, Sunday. The KBP Iloilo Chapter regrets that there have been aggrieved parties in the said search operation conducted by the SWAT Team. As per information gathered and without prejudice to any official investigation to be conducted as regards the above matter, there appeared to be a lack of prudential judgment on the conduct of the same operation, resulting to what appeared to be a violation of certain legal rights. In view of the foregoing, the KBP Iloilo Chapter is calling the PNP and other authorized agencies for an independent and impartial investigation. We further support our KBP member station Aksyon Radyo Iloilo as to whatever legal remedy they will take to address the situation. In the meantime, we wish goodwill for all parties concerned.
